Conference Back of House Team
Overview
The ACS Conference takes place with the support of many volunteers who contribute their time to help make our events successful.
Key volunteers include the Conference Back of House Team. This team is a vital part of making ACS conference successful, working to streamline conference food receiving, inventory, preparation, and safety for all conference events including food tasting sessions, Meet the Cheesemaker, special events and meals.

Back of House Managers
Receiving Manager: Oversees conference receiving day including a large group of volunteers, ensuring all products are received, cataloged, organized, handled, and accounted for safely.
Inventory Manager: Manages and tracks all products and supplies throughout conference, ensuring they are handled and stored safely, plus delivered for sessions and events.
Cheesemongers
Official Conference Cheesemongers: Create displays of cheese and accompaniments for conference meals, sessions, and events, practicing safe handling, storage, and transport of all food.
Volunteer Coordinator
Volunteer Coordinator: Responsible for organizing, allocating, and overseeing volunteers at the conference.
Hours (May vary by role)
Pre-Conference (March-July):
3-5 hours per month for planning calls, conference preparation work, and more
On Site (July):
4-6 days behind the scenes at the ACS Conference. Team members should anticipate working extended hours averaging 12 hours per day.
