As the ACS Judging & Competition returns for its fifth year at this dedicated venue, it continues to recognize the craftsmanship and care that define cheesemaking across the Americas. Minneapolis has become a trusted home for this prestigious gathering, thanks to its central location, vibrant food culture, and strong logistical support.

“Minneapolis continues to be an incredible home for our Judging & Competition,” said Tara Holmes, Executive Director of ACS. “This event celebrates the craftsmanship and dedication of cheesemakers from across the Americas, while providing insights and feedback that help the entire industry grow and thrive.”

This year’s competition will feature more than 1,600 entries from over 200 producers and companies. An expert panel of judges will evaluate submissions across 139 categories, assessing flavor, aroma, texture, and overall quality in pursuit of the coveted “Best of Show” award.

More than a competition, the ACS Judging & Competition plays a vital role in the cheesemaking community. Participants receive detailed technical and sensory evaluations that support product development, strengthen marketing efforts, and inspire continued excellence.

Winners of the 2026 ACS Judging & Competition will be announced and celebrated at the Awards Ceremony during the American Cheese Society 2026 Conference, taking place on Wednesday, July 8, in Louisville, Kentucky. This year’s theme, “Stitched Together by Cheese,” reflects the connections, community, and shared passion at the heart of the American cheese industry.
