Congratulations to all of the cheesemakers who took part in our annual Judging & Competition. 225 producers from 34 states, Canada, and Mexico entered 1,462 cheeses and cultured dairy products -- a record-breaking year. ANNUAL CONFERENCE & FESTIVAL OF CHEESE
A heartfelt thanks to the many sponsors, volunteers, members, and supporters who made our annual Conference & Competition, and our Awards Ceremony & Festival of Cheese, such great successes. We hope to see you next year in Montreal!
More than 850 people participated in our 27th Annual Conference, with more than 1,000 people attending the annual Awards Ceremony & Festival of Cheese. Considered the Oscars of the cheese world, the special evening began with a welcome from Michael Pollan, followed by an awards ceremony honoring this year’s winning cheesemakers. Immediately following the awards ceremony, guests entered the Festival of Cheese, where they sampled, tasted, learned about, and enjoyed more than 1,400 North American cheeses that were entered in the ACS Judging & Competition.

The American Cheese Society (ACS) was founded in 1983 and has grown to include approximately 1,200 members. The Society’s membership includes farmstead, artisanal and specialty cheesemakers; academicians and enthusiasts; marketing and distribution specialists; food writers and cookbook authors; and specialty foods retailers from the United States, Canada and Europe. Each year the Society hosts an annual conference and a world-renowned judging and competition, which culminates in the Festival of Cheese.
